2023-24 DOSAEM committees and chair appointments

Kent Willis, vice president of the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (DOSAEM), has established five committees within the division for the 2023-24 academic year and appointed chairs for each.

The committee chairs (above) attended a leadership development workshop hosted in late March by Dr. Barbara Holmes and Dr. DeJuanna Parker, of Winona State University. Parker and Holmes have published multiple academic articles on leadership, and Holmes is a professor in leadership education.

Below is a detailed list of the established DOSAEM committees and their chair appointments.

Assessment and Evaluation Committee
The Assessment and Evaluation Committee instills a culture of assessment within the division. Additionally, the committee will work with the Office of the Vice President on the annual report.
Committee Chair Appointment: Georgianna Negron-Long

Staff Professional Development Committee
The Professional and Staff Development Committee actively pursues and secures professional development opportunities for staff within the division in close collaboration with the Office of the Vice President.
Committee Co-Chairs: Sonia Sanchez, Lerin Winchester

Planning and Strategy Committee
The Planning and Strategy Committee supports developing and implementing divisional learning outcomes that support student development.
Committee Co-Chairs: Andrew Esguerra, Jesse Farias

Awards and Recognition Committee
The Awards and Recognition Committee will be responsible for planning activities and developing initiatives to acknowledge service excellence across the division.
Committee Chair: Michael Ballin

Emerging Leaders Committee
The Emerging Leaders Committee is for early-career professionals and potential management candidates. This group will support special projects alongside the Office of the Vice President to facilitate leadership training and gain managerial experience.
Committee Chair: Martin Alvarado
