Department highlight: Amendola Family Student Cupboard

What is the Amendola Family Student Cupboard: Commonly referred to as the “Student Cupboard” or the “Cupboard,” the Amendola Family Student Cupboard (SC) offers a variety of free food items, including fresh produce, donated by both on- and off-campus community partners. Hygiene products are also available, as well as diapers for parent scholars.

The SC collaborates with both on- and off-campus groups to offer services, host events and further support Fresno State students, including Fresno State Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), departments and programs across campus, and the California Climate Action Corps, which manages a small garden on campus and composts fruits and vegetables that are past their shelf life.

How many students visit the SC: Approximately 2,500 students each week.

Student eligibility: Every Fresno State student is able to visit the SC for free, regardless of their income, household size or whether they are a full-time or part-time student. Students do not need to provide any proof of need for assistance.

Where is the SC: Industrial Technology 144 (on the corner of Barstow and Jackson).

The SC also partners with Fresno State’s TARGET Program each semester to provide up to six TARGET students work experience and opportunities to develop their social skills.

Student volunteers and interns also assist with SC operations. There are 30 volunteers at the SC this semester.
