GRISELDA CERVANTES, program counselor for TRIO Student Support Services Program, received Staff of the Year Award at the 47th Annual WESTOP Conference in Portland, Oregon. The WESTOP Conference is an annual gathering of TRIO and Educational Equity Professionals and leaders from across the United States.

JANELL MORILLO, associate vice president for Student Health, Counseling and Wellness, was featured in “The Whole Student; Supporting Wellbeing,” a report for The Chronicle of Higher Education.

ESTEVAN PARRA GUERRERO, director for Upward Bound Programs, facilitated a plática (conversation) at the 47th Annual WESTOP Conference in Portland, Oregon, titled: More than Representation: Centering Identity in Student Success. The session focused on how cultural responsiveness in education goes beyond simply including diverse perspectives, emphasizing the importance of actively centering students’ identities to create more inclusive and supportive learning environments for students and staff.
