Fresno State’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) hosted its annual Region 3 EOP Student Leadership Conference on April 11, 2025.

EOP is designed to improve the access and retention of low-income and first-generation college students. EOP exists at all 23 CSU campuses.

Students and staff from Fresno State, CSU Bakersfield, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and Stanislaus State attended the conference, which aimed to bring fellowship and celebrate student leaders while equipping them with knowledge and skills to be successful on their campus.

The conference began with a welcome from Interim Director Kornya Lansana, followed by remarks from Interim Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Phong Yang.

Students then participated in team building activities and heard from Kimberly Lewis, VP Special Assignment-Ethnic Studies from Fresno Unified School District, and Dr. Etisha Wilbon, Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Fresno State.

They also attended a presentation on ethical choices from ASI President Faith Van Hoven and Executive Vice President Frederick Lisitsa, and were invited to end their day by visiting Vintage Days.
