Staff Kudos

Kudos to STEPHANIE IZAGUIRRE, SI specialist, for her outstanding leadership in planning and executing an incredible Supplemental Instruction (SI) Showcase event. Her initiative in securing additional funding through an IRA grant was instrumental in bringing the event to life. Through Stephanie’s dedication, the showcase effectively highlighted the impact of SI on student success, fostered a sense of community, and offered meaningful opportunities for professional development and student engagement. Stephanie’s work continues to elevate the visibility and value of the SI program within the Fresno State community. Thank you, Stephanie!

High Five Recipients in April 2025
OFELIA GAMEZ, College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP):
Our program was on a super tight deadline and desperately needed a hand. I walked into her office, explained the situation, and without missing a beat, she said “yes” and handed me the keys—literally and figuratively! Your willingness to step in with zero hesitation speaks volumes about the kind of colleague you are: generous, supportive, and always willing to go the extra mile. Thank you for having my back (and my program’s!). I truly appreciate you!
MINDY KATES, Student Health and Counseling Center:
On behalf of the Women’s Alliance Club, we thank Mindy Kates for your outstanding leadership in ensuring that Take Back the Night continued this year, a 30+ year annual campus tradition that stands in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. Thank you, Mindy, for STEPPING UP and leading us.
MELISSA NORRIS, Student Health and Counseling Center:
It was beautiful to see the Parent Scholar event taking place over break. There were so many families out and campus and community organizations to offer resources. I applaud Melissa for her tireless work on amplifying the parent scholars voice on campus and ensuring they have a space to belong. I commend her and so many others that helped make this fair possible.
